Sadako's Memorial. Sadako was a little girl who suffered from leukemia due to radiation exposure. She believed the saying that 1,000 paper cranes will bring you luck or grant you a wish, so she folded tons of them. Unfortunately she passed away, but they built this memorial and all those glass cases are filled with paper cranes. People decorate all the memorials with paper cranes, and ropes of them are litterally draped across statues.
