Doing some exploring
Today I got to see a lot more of Fukushima, unfortunately I did not have my camera handy for most of the time. The morning started out bright and sunny so the other teacher, Paul, took me for a bike ride to show me some places around Fukushima. I was having a lovely time catching all the sights and making prayers at local temples when out of nowhere it starts to snow! Paul was really nice and took the time to point out many things, but the problem is that he's a long-talker and I'm REALLY sensitive to the cold. He would start talking about fruit or something and all I could manage was a slight nod as I tried to regain feeling in my hands. Later he took me to the local government building, Corese (or something like that), which has an observation deck. I was able to thaw out as he pointed to some interesting places in the distance. I learned a lot of cool things about Fukushima, and have some good ideas about what to do with visitors so please come and visit me soon!
Later in the day Kaori, another fellow teacher, drove me around the city to show me some other cool places that were a little further away. She also took me to get some stuff for my apartment and then we went out to dinner. Kaori is super nice and fun to be around. She and Paul made me feel really welcome by taking the time to show me around the city.
